About Sabotage
Released in 1975, Sabotage is the sixth studio album by the legendary British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The album features the classic lineup of Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Bill Ward on drums.
Sabotage showcases Black Sabbath’s signature heavy riffs and dark themes, but also incorporates elements of funk and jazz. The album features some of the band’s most memorable tracks, such as “Symptom of the Universe,” “Hole in the Sky,” and “Megalomania.” The opening track “Hole in the Sky” is known for its distinctive guitar riff and powerful vocals, while “Megalomania” is a seven-minute epic that showcases the band’s experimental side.
The album was well received by critics upon its release, with many praising its heavy sound and diverse musical influences. Sabotage has since become a fan favorite and is often considered one of Black Sabbath’s best albums. Its influence can be heard in the work of countless heavy metal bands that followed in its wake.
