About Think Tank
Think Tank is the seventh studio album by English rock band Blur, released in 2003. The album marks a departure from the band’s previous Britpop sound, incorporating elements of electronic and world music. It was the band’s first album without guitarist Graham Coxon, who had left during the recording sessions due to creative differences.
The album features a more experimental and atmospheric sound, with tracks like “Ambulance” and “Out of Time” incorporating elements of African and Middle Eastern music. The album also features collaborations with producer Danger Mouse, who helped the band achieve a more electronic sound, and vocalist Fatoumata Diawara, who contributes to the track “Moroccan Peoples Revolutionary Bowls Club”.
While Think Tank received mixed reviews upon release, it has since gained a cult following among Blur fans for its experimentation and bold departure from the band’s earlier sound. Highlights of the album include the catchy and upbeat “Crazy Beat” and the haunting and introspective “Battery In Your Leg”, which was later revealed to be a farewell message to Coxon.
